I am really excited about the reception tonight at Norsworthy Art Gallery. It is from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and is open to the public. Hors d’ oeuvres and a cash bar will be available as well. The showcase will continue through September 30th. This art showcase features artwork from members only of the American Advertising Federation of Shreveport-Bossier. I submitted 3 pieces, two of which are photographs and one is a limited edition print of a pencil drawing. Here is some information about each piece…

The one titled “Two Broncs”:

I took the photograph in Cheyenne, Wyoming at Frontier Days Rodeo in 2006. The rodeo is outdoors and the pen was full of saddle bronc horses they use during the rodeo. This was my favorite pose of them. Last year I decided to do a pencil drawing and chose this one. Most of my pencil drawings are for clients, but I decided to do one for myself.

“The Wild Side”

I took this photo of my horse last month for my website. I bought her two years ago to train as a barrel horse and it has taken us that long to get along! She’s not really wild, just full of energy. She has a large gas pedal if you know what I mean.

The last one is really special to me. “Brotherly Love”

I took this photo with my iphone last year right after my brother started his cancer treatments. He was casually playing his guitar and on a whim I pulled out my iphone and snapped a photo. I loved the way it looked and decided to add some design to it. My brother also paints abstract, so I wanted it to appeal to him. After a long year and a half, I am happy to say he is disease free!
